Exploratory eument-net survey
In June and July 2007, under the lead of the German partner MuT-LaKoG, eument-net has conducted a survey to find out about the interest and expectations towards a European network of mentoring programmes. Two electronic questionnaires have been developed. One was addressed to stakeholders involved in the promotion of women in academia and research. The other addressed coordinators of existing mentoring programmes in Europe. The results show a high interest for a European network of mentoring programmes and highly support the aims defined by eument-net: exchange of experience and best practice examples; definition of quality standards; transfer of knowledge on mentoring; networking and cooperation. >> selected survey results
Study on needs and expectations of Bulgarian junior women scientists
In July 2007, the Bulgarian partner in the eument-net consortium has conducted a study to gather information on difficulties faced by Bulgarian women PhD students and early career researchers and their expectations with regard to their future career, in order to assess the potential of mentoring programmes to address these issues. The study is based two focus group sessions with Bulgarian junior women scientists and additional survey by questionnaire. The findings show that mentoring programmes bear important potential to address specific deficiencies of the academic environment faced by Bulgarien women PhD students and early career researchers. >> results of Focus group sessions >> results from questionnaires |
